On January 23, 2025, The Prince of Detroit premiered on BET, captivating audiences with its compelling narrative of resilience and redemption. Tony is portrayed by Tommy Duncan II, a privileged heir who embarks on a journey to rebuild his family's legacy after a profound betrayal leaves them destitute. Brytni Sarpy portrayed Sydney Black, Tony's sophisticated and highly educated mother, who becomes a senior vice president of a Black-owned community hospital. Columbus Short took on the role of Harlow Black, Sydney's second husband, forming Detroit's ultimate power couple. Robert Anthony Slocum II, Atlanta born and bred film director, producer, actor, author, businessman, and entrepreneur. He is the writer and co-producer of The Prince of Detroit. Slocum's journey into the arts began during his time at Savannah State University. In 2012, Slocum founded Eyes Glued Productions, aiming to create content that captivates audiences. Beyond his work in film, Slocum has a background in security, having served as a bodyguard for celebrities such as Chris and Kyle Massey, and Raven Symone. He is also an author, with his book "Paid Dues" becoming a bestseller in Urban Crime and Fiction. Slocum's multifaceted career reflects his dedication to storytelling and his commitment to producing content that resonates with diverse audiences. His contributions to The Prince of Detroit have solidified his reputation as a talented writer and producer in the film industry.
