Hello, beautiful people!
I’m thrilled to introduce myself as the new Beauty Director at In the City Magazine. My name is Daphne Rogers, and beauty has been my passion for as long as I can remember. From hair and makeup to modeling and runway—if it’s about beauty, I’m all in — I live and breathe it all.
My journey started back in 2012 at Barbizon modeling and acting school where I gained invaluable knowledge about the modeling and acting industry —everything from mastering photo posing and runway techniques to public speaking and personal development. Those early experiences gave me the confidence and foundation to step into the beauty world and shaped me into the beauty professional I am today, I am forever grateful and proud to be a Barbizon alum, cherishing my humble beginnings there which have provided me with truly invaluable experiences. In my sophomore year in high school, after completing my training at Barbizon in 2014, I began working as a promotional model, gradually advancing over the years to become a team leader, supervisor, and eventually a model instructor by 2019. These experiences ignited my passion for the beauty industry, inspiring me to dive deeper. I wanted to expand my experience beyond just being in front of the camera—I wanted to work behind the scenes as well, during my senior year of high school (2015-2016), I took master cosmetology courses to expand my skills.
In 2017, I enrolled in a Master Cosmetology program to further my education and gain my professional state board license. However, my frequent travel with Barbizon—sometimes for a full week at a time—caused me to fall behind on my required hours, ultimately leading me to withdraw from the program in 2018.
Despite this setback, my love for the industry never wavered. Determined to continue my journey, I became a licensed esthetician in 2022 and, most recently, a beauty instructor in 2025. Each step of my path has shaped me into the beauty professional I am today, and I’m excited to keep growing and sharing my knowledge with others.
Now, stepping into this role at In the City Magazine, I’m beyond excited to bring expert beauty insights, creativity, and insider knowledge to you. Whether it’s the latest beauty trends, skincare must-haves, pro makeup techniques, or behind-the-scenes runway secrets, I’m here to share it all. My goal is to inspire, educate, and empower you to feel confident, and beautiful in your OWN skin.
