After earning his undergraduate degree from Georgia State University, he pursued law at Boston College Law School, later becoming a respected attorney in private practice for over two decades. Through his legal lens, Harper saw a void in the music industry—particularly when it came to protecting, developing, and guiding independent talent. That vision led to the creation of Avant-Garde ENT. in 2009, a company grounded in innovation, integrity, and community. Under his leadership, Avant-Garde ENT. has become a full-service entertainment powerhouse, providing strategic artist management, music production, brand development, and marketing.
Harper has worked alongside notable industry figures, including Grammy-winning producer Zaytoven, and has been featured in major media outlets such as Black Enterprise Magazine for his impactful contributions to Black entrepreneurship and entertainment. As the creator of American Soul Star, Harper has curated a nationwide platform that offers unsigned and emerging artists a shot at stardom.
