Veuve Clicquot and Magnum Photos have partnered to bring forward an inspiring art exhibition to depict the essence of Veuve’s Solaire Culture : “the sense of joy and optimism inspired by the Sun”.
8 photographers (Nanna Heitmann, Olivia Arthur, Lindokuhle Sobekwa, Newsha Tavakolian, Steve McCurry, Cristina de Middel, Trent Parke, and Alex Webb) were commissioned for this exhibit carte Blanche. They were given full creative control of curating an exhibit expressing “the emotions inspired in them by the Sun”.
If you are visiting Soho, NYC between Monday June 17th and Friday June 23rd then make sure you stop by 216 Lafayette St.
Take a look through this beautiful exhibit and share with us which photos resonate with you the most.
Here’s a sneak peak!
Cristina de Middel “The Magic of The Sun”
The balloon in this collection is metaphorical of the Sun. The added props and pops of color convey feelings of joy, fulfillment, freedom, and the lightness of being.
Alex Webb “The Many Suns of Oaxaca”
The vibrant colors with deep shadows express feelings of happiness, excitement, and mystery.
Trent Parke “The Sun as the Ultimate Force of Life”
With the Sun taking the lead in the cast of subjects , and the sharp contrast of shadows against the ocean background exudes happiness, peace, and serenity.
Newsha Tavakolian “Nurturing Sun”
This photo journalist captures the soothing and nurturing presence of the Sun. Feelings of deep sense of hope, relief, and new beginnings
The videos of the artwork don’t do it as much justice as seeing it in person! If possible, be sure to stop by the exhibit before it ends!
